Official Names (Article 1.6)

  • Full Ukrainian name: Hromadska spilka “Federatsiia basketbolu Ukrainy” (Public Union “Basketball Federation of Ukraine”)
  • Short Ukrainian name: HS “Federatsiia basketbolu Ukrainy” or “FBU”
  • Full English name: Basketball Federation of Ukraine
  • Short English name: FBU

The Basketball Federation of Ukraine (FBU) is an all-Ukrainian public association of physical culture and sports orientation, an organization with the status of a legal entity.

Main Purpose (Article 2.1)

The main purpose of FBU activities is the development and popularization of basketball in Ukraine (including 3x3 basketball), aimed at increasing the level and mass participation of this sport among all segments of the country’s population.

Governing Bodies (Article 11)

  1. Congress - the highest governing body of FBU
  2. Executive Committee - the highest governing body between Congresses
  3. Secretariat - executive-administrative body

Membership (Article 6)

Members of FBU can be:

  • Regional basketball federations
  • Basketball federations (associations) of cities with regional significance
  • Basketball federations (associations) of cities with a population of at least 100,000 people
  • Other private legal entities (associate members)
